The D&A Western France Program is a luxury travel plan that combines Bordeaux touring with a magnificent drive along the Loire Valley, a world heritage site listed by UNESCO as the largest living cultural landscape in France.

Around Bordeaux and its iconic wine growing regions, we have tailored a prestigious three-night stay. La Cité du Vin, the world’s largest wine theme park and cultural center, is our first destination on the banks of the Garonne river. After a gourmet lunch at the panoramic restaurant and an entertaining visit of the new high-tech museum, we take the road to the renowned Saint-Emilion vineyards and check in a majestic property nearby the medieval town. A village tour and Château-Figeac wine tasting make a great day in the heartland of the Merlot grape. Pauillac is the next step along the mythic Route des Châteaux and its unique concentration of legendary estates. The fabled Margaux, Mouton Rothschild and Pichon Baron are the illustrious Médoc wineries that open their cellars for us to experience truly memorable visits.

Leaving south-west France and heading towards the Loire region, we visit Martell the oldest of the great Cognac house and stop over Vouvant, a picturesque village of Vendée. In Anjou, I have the great pleasure to invite our guests to spend a couple of nights in the most charming manor house of my native village. Wine tasting in Savennières and Saumur, a romantic cruise on a traditional Loire boat and a show at the Cadre Noir horse riding school highlight our stay in the province.

While traveling upstream along the Loire river, wine tasting is planned in the village of Chançay on the great terroir of Vouvray. A night in an exceptional mansion of Touraine and its Michelin star-rated gastronomic restaurant comes before a visit to the Château de Chenonceau, an architectural and cultural jewel of the Loire Valley. The Château de Cheverny, one of the most fascinating historical monument of the region is on our agenda of heritage activities on the return journey to Paris.
