WINE TASTING & CELLAR TOURS

Sancerre
Domaine Henri Bourgeois (Sancerre)

In the heart of France, the Sancerre region, celebrated worldwide for its Sauvignon blanc, is one of the most welcoming destination for wine lovers. Nearby the grand medieval hill town of Sancerre itself, with its dozens of cafés, bistros and cellars to taste wine in, the Chavignol hamlet is the starting point of our majestic drive along the Loire river. The prominent Domaine Henri Bourgeois, winegrowers for ten generations, welcomes us for Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé tasting with a great classic pairing of Crottin de Chavignol, the iconic local goat cheese.

Savennières
La Coulée de Serrant (Savennières)

In Anjou, D&A Private Tours goes to Savennières, the secluded kingdom of a highly rated Chenin Blanc white wine of the Loire Valley.  The top enclave there, la Coulée de Serrant, consists of one single tiny estate, grown by the charismatic Nicolas Joly according to hardcore biodynamic methods. Mentioned by many critics as one of the most thrilling dry white wine in the world.

Saumur Champigny
Domaine Nerleux (Saumur-Champigny)

Going upstream along the river, we have a taste of some fine Saumur-Champigny from the Domaine de Nerleux and meet the owners for nine generations in a casual and friendly atmosphere.

Greiten & Meyer
Gratien & Meyer (Saumur Sparkling Wine)

In Saumur, visiting the majestic cellars of Gratien & Meyer is another pleasant option. From this ancient tuffeau limestone mining site, ideally located on a hillside, we discover the best Crémant sparkling wine of Anjou while enjoying a beautiful panoramic view on the Loire Valley.

Château de Valmer (Vouvray)
Château de Valmer (Vouvray)

Between Tours and Amboise, le Château de Valmer is nestled on the edge of a hillside overlooking the Brenne valley and planted with vines of Vouvray.  Over twelve acres, a majestic park bordering vegetable and flower gardens feature a succession of terraces decorated with balustrades, fountains and sculptures inspired by the villas of the Italian Renaissance.  Visiting le Château de Valmer is a delightful experience combining Touraine wine & cheese tasting with the discovery of classic 17th century gardens.
